Police have confirmed that alcohol was involved in a serious car accident at a Chesterfield petrol station this morning.
The incident happened at around 4.30am and took place at the Esso garage on the A617 Hasland bypass.
One car - a red Seat - had driven on to the forecourt and hit a stationary vehicle before continuing into the station building.
Firefighters from Chesterfield and Staveley made the vehicles safe and left the incident in the hands of the police and petrol station staff.
A police spokesperson confirmed that there were no serious injuries and that alcohol was involved.
