The items of clothing were discovered alongside each other on the path about 150 yards from the Derbyshire Times' offices on Spire Walk.

It is not the first time undergarments have been left in a public place in the town.

In April last year, a bra was found hanging from a tree - with the Crooked Spire in the background - on the town's cycle path.
