A DEDICATED councillor, who played a vital role in the running of Chesterfield Borough Council since his election in May 2011, has lost his battle with cancer.
Cllr Trevor Reynolds, 69, was the representative for St Helen’s Ward, which he served with his partner, Cllr Angela Reynolds, who he married just five days before his death on May 2.
Chesterfield MP Toby Perkins, said: “Trevor’s death is a tragic loss to the people of the St Helen’s ward whom he diligently served from before election right through his illness and until his death.
“As a community activist, campaigner, community forum member and latterly chair, Trevor worked to improve the St Helen’s area throughout the nine years he lived in the area.”
The funeral is at Chesterfield Crematorium on May 17, at 2.30pm. The family have asked for donations to Cancer Research in lieu of flowers.
