Traffic mounting on M1 between Mansfield and Chesterfield after lane closure

Motorists are warned to expect delays on the M1 between Mansfield and Chesterfield due to a lane closure.

One of four lanes is currently closed on the M1 between J29 for Chesterfield and J28 for Mansfield.

Highways England confirmed that the lane closure was due to a broken down vehicle.

A spokesperson added that traffic officers are currently on the scene attempting to clear the incident.

Normal traffic conditions are expected to resume at about 3pm this afternoon (Friday, March 5).
