Paraglider dies in Peak District fall

The man was paragliding in Hollinsclough, near Buxton, on Friday afternoon when he fell to the ground, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Members of the public administered CPR prior to the arrival of a community first responder and paramedics.

The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance was also sent to the scene.

“Sadly, despite their best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead a short time later,” a spokeswoman for the ambulance service said.
