M1 junction near Chesterfield will be closed ‘for some time’ due to overturned lorry

Juction 28 of the M1 may be closed ‘for some time’ say police, as work to recover an overturned lorry gets underway.

The junction, at South Normanton, was shut off this afternoon after the LGV crashed onto its side on the roundabout.

Derbyshire Roads Police tweeted: “Overturned lorry requires unloading prior to righting.

"This is not a quick or easy process so except it to be closed for some time.”
