LATEST: A6 reopens after crash

A MOTORIST is in a serious but stable condition in hospital following an accident on the A6 near Taddington this morning (Thursday).

The driver of a Ford Mondeo, a 38-year-old man from Bolsover, sustained head injuries in the single-vehicle crash and was airlifted to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

The road remained shut for four hours between the junctions with the B6049 and the A6020, before being reopened by police shortly after 3pm.

Witnesses are asked to call Derbyshire police on 101.
