Motorists are urged to plan additional time to complete their journeys.

In a tweet, Highways England East Midlands wrote: “UPDATE - #M1 southbound between J29 (#Heath #A617) and J28 (#Broadmeadows #A38). All lanes have reopened. Delays of 25 minutes remain in the area. Please allow additional time for your journey this morning.”
