A6 closed at Dove Holes after ‘serious’ car crash

Motorists are advised to avoid the A6 at Dove Holes this morning after a ‘serious’ car crash.

The A6 Hallstead is currently closed both ways, from the A623 to Dale Road, due to the accident which is believed to have taken place in the early hours.

It is currently affecting traffic between Buxton and Chapel-en-le-Frith.

The AA live route planner says, however, that traffic is ‘coping well’.

Posting on Twitter, the High Peak bus service said: “Due to a serious road traffic accident the A6 is currently closed at Dove Holes, therefore we are currently unable to operate via the village. It is not expected to open for several hours.”

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote incident number 33 of June 28.

We have contacted Derbyshire Constabulary about the incident and are awaiting their response.
