Danielle Williams said she faces a “ticking time bomb” after doctors told her she could have just five years left to live.

The 28-year-old was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last November and the disease has now spread to other parts of her body, including her stomach, bowel and liver.

The cancer is so aggressive it cannot be treated.

Danielle, of Valley View Close, Hasland, said: “When I got the news, I was absolutely devastated – nobody wants to hear they’ve got a terminal illness.

“The saddest thing is I won’t be here to see my children grow up – it’s just heartbreaking.”

Danielle, who has sons Oliver, eight, and Charlie, six, with husband Lee, said she wants to spend as much time as possible with her family and friends.

She added: “There are times when I think ‘why me?’ but I’m trying to remain optimistic and taking each day as it comes.

“I’m looking forward to going to Spain with my family later this year – it could be my last holiday so it will mean a lot.”

Danielle said her battle has inspired her to organise future fundraising events for cancer charities.

She said she has received “absolutely amazing” support from her friends and family during her battle so far. She gave a special mention to her dad, Gordon Browes, her mother and father-in-law, Diane and Dave Williams, and her friend, Jane Johnson.
