A motorway used by commuters near Sheffield is closed in one direction, with heavy tailbacks on the other side after a lorry crash this afternoon.
The M62 is currently closed Westbound between junctions 21 and 24, and is down to one lane with congestion in the other direction.
The traffic is spilling over onto Woodhead Pass according to reports, causing delays, while the A57 Snake Pass from its junction with the A6013 Ashopton Road all the way to its junction with Hurst Road in Glossop until June 14.
A HGV driver was taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries after smashing through a motorway central reservation and colliding with a car, a van and two other lorries on the opposite carriageway of the M62 earlier today.
The lorry had been carrying 44 tons of butter at the time of the incident.
The Highways Agency says the motorway closures are expected to remain in place until at least 8pm.
