Tools stolen from parked car

Police are appealing for information after tools were stolen from a parked car.

Between 11am and 12-noon on Wednesday, police received reports that a hedge trimmer and strimmer were stolen from a Peugeot 306, parked in Back Lane, Hathersage.

The owner of the vehicle had left the window slightly ajar as it was a warm day.

It is thought that the thief forced the window all the way down, unlocked the vehicle and took the tools.

A resident who lives on the road recalls seeing a “youth with short hair” looking suspicious in the area around the time of the theft.
