A fundraising spectacular takes place at the Proact Stadium on Saturday evening to raise money for two worthy causes in memory of a popular Chesterfield woman.

Lifelong friends Paul Wilbraham and Dave Trickett are hosting a Posh Pie and Pea supper as part of their ongoing bid to raise £10,000 this year for the Teenage Cancer Trust and Ashgate Hospice in memory of Dave’s daughter Kimberley.

Kimberley died at Ashgate Hospice after a fourth battle with cancer in 2009, aged just 20.

Since then her family have raised an amazing £150,000 for Ashgate and this year Dave and Paul have been busy raising money for the two charities by hosting a variety of fundraisers.

They have already completed five marathons and a 24-hour treadmill challenge as well as other mini-fundraisers - while Spire Radio is releasing a special Christmas single to help boost funds.

Dave is Spire Radio’s community and charities director. He also works in a voluntarily counselling role and with other grieving parents who have lost their children to illness.

Tickets for Saturday’s event - which starts at 6.45pm - cost £35 and include a meal, music and dancing, performances by three singers, raffles and auctions.
