ROCKETMAN Elton John will be singing at a sold-out show when he arrives at the B2net Stadium next year.

Tickets for his one-off UK tour date - which comes amid his three year residency in Las Vegas - have been selling fast, with almost 85 per cent already snapped up.

Alan Stevenson, head of marketing at Chesterfield FC, said: “It’s fantastic that the tickets have gone down so well.

“We are in a recession and money’s tight, and it’s not for another eight months but this event has really captured the hearts and minds of the people of Chesterfield.”

But promoters, Marshall Arts, say there is still chance for people to buy their tickets.

Promoter, Ben Martin, said: “The majority of the tickets have been bought from the local area, showing that this is very much a local concert.

He said there is now much preparation to be done before Sir Elton lands in the town on June 9, 2012.

The Derbyshire Times is the official media partner for Elton John’s concert.
