Three men taken to hospital after blaze

THREE men were taken to hospital after a flat fire in Grassmoor.

Crews were called to New Street at around 8.30pm on Tuesday after a blaze broke out in a first floor flat.

Two fire engines from Chesterfield and one from Clay Cross were called out.

One man escaped from the property before emergency services arrived.

Three other men were given oxygen then taken to hospital by ambulance.

They were treated for minor injuries.

Crews left the scene at 9.13pm.

A spokeswoman for Derbyshire police said the fire was not believed to be suspicious.
