Three men charged in connection with two robberies in Chesterfield

Three men have been charged in connection with two robberies that took place in Chesterfield on the same night.

At 8.20pm on Thursday, a 34-year-old man was walking along Edinburgh Road, Wingerworth, when he was assaulted and a set of keys were taken from him.

At bout 8.30pm an 18-year-old man was robbed of his mobile phone on an alleyway off Ashgate Valley Road. He suffered head injuries.

Both victims received hospital treatment.

A 21-year-old man and two 20-year-old men were arrested in connection with the offences.

Louis Grainger, 21, of no fixed abode, and Jonathan Owen, 20, of Grasmere Close, were charged with two counts of robbery.

Jordon Maltby, 20, of Gloucester Road, Chesterfield, was charged with one count of robbery.

They appeared before magistrates in Chesterfield on Friday, November 15.
