We would like to express our disappointment at Derbyshire Police’s decision to shut Hasland Police Office from the 19th December as part of its cost cutting programme.
As local councillors we have written to both the Chief Constable and the new Police Commissioner, Alan Charles to urge them to re-think this decision.
We are also concerned at the lack of consultation that has taken place in Hasland over such an important decision that will affect the local community.
We are continuing to lobby the police to reconsider this and are trying to work with everyone involved to reach a solution that meets the needs of the community in Hasland and the difficult decisions the Police face over cuts to their to their budget in Derbyshire.
