Thieves take cash from Chesterfield phone box

Thieves have made off with cash after targeting a phone box in Walton.

The kiosk on Walton Road, opposite the junction with Hunloke Avenue, was tampered with at around 2.40pm on Monday, January 18 - but was not reported to police until Tuesday, March 15.

Officers say a quantity of cash was stolen and are now appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious near to the phone box around that time to contact them.

They should call PCSO Darryl Hegarty on 101, quoting crime reference number 11518/16, or send a message online by visiting the ‘Contact Us’ section of www.derbyshire.police.uk/Contact-Us.
