Thieves steal mini-digger from Matlock business

Thieves have stolen a mini-digger from a business in Matlock.

Sometime between 4.30pm on Tuesday and 8.30am on Wednesday, offenders broke into Balfour Beatty, on Bakewell Road, opposite Whitworth Hospital, and made off with the vehicle.

A spokesman for Derbyshire police said: “They knocked down a wall to get into the building site and stole the mini-digger.

“It looks like it was then loaded on to another vehicle as tracks can be seen leading on to the main road.”
