Derbyshire police are appealing for witnesses after an attempt was made to steal a cash machine in Duckmanton.

The incident follows a similar incident in July 2015, when a gang of thieves ripped the ATM from the wall of the Co-op convenience store and petrol station, before hoisting it into an open-top van.

Derbyshire police said: "At around 4am this morning (Tuesday, June 14) police were called to the Co-op service station on Chesterfield Road in Duckmanton after reports that an attempt had been made to steal the ATM machine.

"Officers attended and searched the area. A black Land Rover Discovery, which had damage to its rear end, was found abandoned in a field off of Rectory Road.
