On their bikes for hospice charity

More than a hundred big-hearted cyclists rolled out on Sunday, July 17, on a tough cycling challenge to raise money for Chesterfield's Ashgate Hospicecare.

The cyclists took part in either 25, 50 or 100 mile routes on the Heroica Hospice Ride after setting off from the hospice, on Ashgate Road and heading out around the Peak District and southern Derbyshire before finishing back at Brampton Manor, on Old Road, Chesterfield.

Bolsover & District Cycling Club and Brampton Manor helped organise the very successful event, formerly known as the Flagg Challenge.

Road racers, mountain bikers and even tandem riders took part and hope to have raised thousands of pounds for the hospice. Pictured are some of the participants about to set off.
