A terrified Chesterfield woman was threatened with a chisel by masked burglars who broke into her home and stole her purse.
The 55-year-old woman was alone at her home on Baden Powell Road in Boythorpe at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, October 18, when the men allegedly burst in.
After confronting and threatening her, they allegedly made off with her purse, which contained a quantity of cash.
It became apparent that the alleged offenders had forced entry to the house by forcing a window off its hinges. They exited via the back door.
The incident was also a nasty ordeal for the victim’s husband, who was on the phone to his wife at the time and made the 999 call.
DC Dan Appleby said: “We’d love to hear from anyone that saw people or vehicles that made them suspicious in the area between 2pm and 3pm that day.
“If someone with a dash cam drove down Baden Powell Road at around that time, or if your home is in the locality and has CCTV, you could also help us a great deal by coming forward.”
