TEMPLE NORMANTON: Open gardens afternoon raises £210 for eye hospital

An open gardens afternoon was held at 257 and 261 Chesterfield Road, Temple Normanton recently, with afternoon tea and cakes served.

The event was organised by Barbara and Julie Marshall, to raise funds for the St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem. An information board detailing the work of the Eye Hospital, and information leaflets were available.

Thanks have been expressed to all those who baked cakes for the event: Barbara and Julie Marshall, Maureen Raybold, Estelle Buxton and Ruth Bailey, David Nott and Stephen Wright for erecting the marquee and to Peter and Janet Wright for preparing both gardens for this event.

Raffle prizes were won by Ann Nixon, Daniel Nixon, Dorri Mangum, Frank James, Kath Staniland, Linda Slater, Maggie Locke, Harold Locke, Maureen Raybold and Gill Bethel.

£210 was raised for the Eye Hospital.
