Jess said: “I was attracted to the company’s apprenticeship programme for the business development opportunities that it offered. I look forward to starting my apprenticeship at Hope Cement Works – the company really seems to value its employees.”

Daniel added: “My school work experience placement was at Hope Cement Works and I was impressed with the company’s approach to safety and the environment. The apprenticeship programme now gives me an opportunity to pursue my passion for engineering.”

Breedon Group PLC – the largest independent construction materials group in the UK – continues to demonstrate its commitment to growth by investing in its apprenticeship academy programme – this year recruiting eight apprentices across the UK.

Nicola Wood, talent and development manager at Breedon, said: “We’re extremely proud of the development opportunities that our apprenticeship academy offers. As part of our commitment to being a good local employer, we see apprentices as key in our workforce. We look forward to seeing our new recruits develop their skills and knowledge whilst playing their part in the longer-term success of the company.“

The apprenticeship programme combines college education with practical, hands on experience and both apprentices will be provided with mentors who will support them through the scheme.
