Teenager arrested in Hadfield for drugs

Police discovered suspected Class B drugs following patrols in parts of Hadfield.

The policing team have increased patrols in antisocial behaviour hot spots including Station Road, Lambgates and the Ehlinger Avenue area.

An officer became suspicious when engaging with a group of youths during patrols and carried out searches under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A 17-year-old girl from the Manchester area was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class B drugs and has been bailed pending further investigations.

Sergeant Phil Booth from the Hadfield and Tintwistle Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Unfortunately the antisocial behaviour of a minority can tarnish the reputation of the majority of law abiding young people.

“The public can help us to crackdown on this type of crime by sharing information and reporting any anti-social behaviour to police.”
