A Sheffield teenager accused of murdering a Chesterfield man was today refused bail at Nottingham Crown Court.

Jaiden Browne-Evans, 18, is accused of murdering 35-year-old Darren Broadbent at a flat on Thorntree Court in Grangewood.

He appeared by video link from HMP Nottingham but his co-accused - a 15-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons - did not appear.

Michael Auty QC, representing the 15-year-old boy also accused in the case, made no application for bail for his client.

It emerged during the hearing that Mr Broadbent, of Grindlow Avenue, Boythorpe, died of a stab wound to the heart.
