A 17-year-old boy was punched in the face when he was assaulted by an older man.

Derbyshire Police are appealing for information following the attack at Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens.

On the evening of Wednesday, August 17, a 17-year-old boy was with a small group of friends at the Pavilion Gardens bandstand in Buxton when he was approached by an older man.

The man is believed to have accused the boy of causing damage before punching him in the face and breaking his nose.

The offender was described as white, aged between 35 to 40-years-old, with dark hair, and around 6ft tall. He was of stocky build with broad shoulders, and wore a black patterned shirt and possibly jeans.

The incident is believed to have taken place sometime between 10.30pm and 11.10pm on Wednesday, August 17.
