Teddy bears’ picnic fun for village

Waingroves Community Woodland played host to a large gathering of teddy bears on Saturday as local people met to celebrate the completion of a £40,000 development project in the woods.

More than 130 people attended the picnic in the woodland glade with children especially enjoying themselves thanks to all the events put on, including face painting, a puppet show and a teddy bears’ picnic and parade.

New Ripley Mayor Councillor Roland Emmas-Williams commended local people, Community Woodland trustees and the community association for helping to create such a wonderful woodland environment and community.
