The High Peak will be showing its support for the UK’s armed forces by flying a flag in Buxton this month.
Mayor Tony Kemp is inviting people to join him at an event to mark Armed Forces Day, which is on Saturday, June 29.
Councillor Kemp said: “Our armed forces do an amazing job in often dangerous and difficult circumstances and we’ll be showing our support for them by flying flags in our towns.
“These brave men and women, past and present, serve us so well and I hope as many people as possible can join me in honouring them.”
Buxton’s flag will be raised during a short ceremony at 10am on Monday, June 24, by the flag pole next to the band stand in the Pavilion Gardens. It will be flown for a week.
