Pupils from a Chesterfield musical theatre school are roaring off across the Channel to perform in Disneyland Paris.

Students of Directions Theatre Arts, cheered on by two coaches of supporters, will be performing at the holiday resort’s Lion King Theatre next week.

Geoff Cox, co-founder of the school on Sheffield Road, said: “The Directions students who are going to perform are very excited as it is another performance to add to their list of places like Her Majesty’s Theatre and The London Palladium in the West End.”

Their exciting adventure was sparked by mums Samantha Morgan and Fiona Stevensonm, whose sons James and Dominic attend the school, sending off a promotional DVD.

Geoff said: “Disneyland liked what they saw and set the cogs in motion to get DTA to Paris.

“The rules, regulations and standards are set very high and every routine and costume is vetted by Disneyland Paris to ensure all the production that is to be performed is child- and family-friendly.”
