Street dancer Kirsty Allen is in seventh heaven after being picked by pop superstar Madonna’s choreographer to join a new troupe.

Kirsty (21), of Tennyson Avenue, Chesterfield, beat off competition from hundreds of hopefuls to be part of the street dance crew atti2ude and share a £10,000 contract.

She said: “I have never dared to go into a competition like this before - it’s a big step for me and means so much that I actually get through.”

The magnificent seven dancers - including Kirsty’s boyfriend Martyn McLaughlin - are being tutored by Sisco Gomez, who has worked with Madonna and Kylie Minogue and is a judge on telly’s So You Think You Can Dance.

Sisco said: “I’ll be putting atti2ude through their paces to ensure they become the best dancers they can be and start their journey to success.”

Celebrity choreographer Sisco was among judges who selected Kirsty in the final of Schwarzkopf’s Street Dance: The Search competition, a heat of which was held at Meadowhall, Sheffield.

Kirsty, who has been dancing since she was three, is president of the Sheffield Hallam Street and Break dance Society.

She is in her final year at Sheffield University where she is studying a course in children and playwork.
