Buxton Festival has been given a cash boost by a local store.
Waitrose has donated £263 to the festival from its Community Matters scheme, where shoppers vote with tokens at the checkouts to decide which charities receive funding. Receiving the cheque was Claire Barlow who co-ordinates the Buxton Festival Outreach programme. Claire said: “We’re really grateful to Waitrose and Buxton shoppers for voting for Buxton Festival’s Outreach programme to receive this funding. The money helped us to involve 2,500 local children in free creative arts projects in 2013.”
