Store’s alcohol licence revoked for underage sales

A SHOP owner has lost his licence to sell alcohol after breaking a number of trading laws – including selling booze to underage buyers.

Fawad Karim, owner of West Bars Convenience Store in Chesterfield, also lost his licence for stocking vodka not produced at a legitimate distillery and possessing 7,000 cigarettes which did not have UK Duty paid.

Chesterfield Borough Council’s licensing sub-committee decided to revoke the store’s licence last Thursday.

The premises licence holder has 21 days to appeal the decision.
