Bank managers have raised a mountain of cash to help care for hospice patients in an ongoing programme of fundraising.
Yorkshire Bank employees Phil Walker, Steve Wicks, Andy North, Richard Alsop and Terry Stanley walked 26 miles over three of the highest peaks in Yorkshire to raise money for Ashgate Hospice.
The five walkers completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in 11 hours, climbing 5,250ft in total.
They all live in and around Chesterfield and cover the north Derbyshire region for the bank.
This was the third year that Yorkshire Bank had organised sponsored walks in aid of Ashgate Hospice with £3,700 raised in 2011. In all, they have walked a total of 86 miles and have raised £10,815.
Senior partner Phil Walker said: “It is great to support the incredible work that the staff at Ashgate Hospice do. With Yorkshire Bank matching all the funds donated, it has been fantastic to be able to take our total over the £10,000 mark.”
