Improvements which were recognised by passengers in the National Passenger Survey 2012 when Matlock achieved 100 per cent passenger satisfaction.

Matlock Bath was runner up in the Most Improved Station category. The award recognised the brighter station environment brought about by the new artwork produced by schoolchildren from Matlock Bath Holy Trinity Primary School and the planting work by station volunteers from Matlock Bath Parish Council.

The station has also benefited from the installation of a new disabled access ramp.

Andy Moore, head of stations for East Midlands Trains, said: “We’ve seen some fantastic improvements to stations on the Derwent Valley Line, which is largely down to the support of the Community Rail Partnership and our excellent team of volunteers. These awards are really well deserved and our congratulations go to everybody involved in making these stations welcoming and attractive for our customers.”
