STARKHOLMES: Guitarist Tom Pilkington entertains WI

The New Year for Starkholmes WI got off to a rousing start, when Mr Tom Pilington came along and delighted members with his guitar playing. His theme was colours and included songs from “Two Lovely Black Eyes” up to “White Cliffs of Dover” which were enjoyed by all and members were all in good voice.

The carol service at Stanton, was not attended by Starkholmes WI as the weather was too inclement. However, the Christmas party was enjoyed and the hamper was won by Mrs Powell.

The menu for the disabled tea was passed around, the theme of the entertainment being “Childhood Memories”.

The Horse and Jockey at Wessington, was chosen for the annual dinner on March 20.

The competition for “An Amusing Christmas Card” was won by Mrs Tomlinson, Mrs Chadbourn and Mrs Cauldwell.

Next meeting is February 13, at the Scout and Guide Hut, Matlock Green, there will be a talk by the Gregory family on “First Responders”. Everyone very welcome. Visitors come along and have a natter and a cuppa.
