STAR LETTER: Editor’s justice is music to my ears

I WRITE regarding Editor James Mitchinson’s personal comment piece in last week’s Derbyshire Times.

I would just like to say how much it meant to me personally, because I am a veteran of the D-Day landings at Normandy.

We very much need people like Mr Mitchinson and indeed the Derbyshire Times when the amount of wrong-doers seems to increase so quickly in this day and age.

These people are ‘dealtwith’ via a slap on the wrist and then allowed to get on their way – that is why things are getting worse.

My wife and I have lived in Chesterfield for the last 50 years, and bought the Derbyshire Times for all that time.

I only have to last another 18 months in order to reach 100 years old.

Good luck to you, and all the best for the future. Keep thinking and acting positive!

Harold Elliott
