Eckington Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre reopened this morning after a major refurbishment.
The sports facility opened its doors for the first time since February 17 at 8am on Saturday.
It had expected to be reopened on March 13 but the project hit delays.
A spokesman for North East Derbyshire District Council said: “We apologise for any inconvenience the delay in opening the refurbished centre may have caused and hope that you will enjoy using the full range of facilities available to you.”
The facility will have extended 50+ station gym, a new group exercise studio, soft play area, cafe and new ‘village’ change’ facilities, plus a 25metre swimming pool which will incorporate public swim, inflatable fun sessions and swimming lessons. Opening hours have also been extended to provide people with more opportunities to get fit and stay healthy.
Public swim is available today and Sunday this weekend and then the full pool timetable will start from Monday.
