Special delivery to good causes

David Greatorex, Jason Armshaw and James Fox travelled from Matlock to Newcastle to compete in the Great North Run half-marathon.

Jason and David raised more than £700 for cancer research and are still receiving donations. James raised money for a care home in the Matlock area to have a Christmas party.

David said: “All three of us are proud of what we have achieved. We have never run this distance before.

“It was a fantastic experience to run with 57,000 people who were also raising money for various charities.

“Jason and I ran together for a respectable time of 1:51:51 and James managed a time of 1:45:01.”

The trio spent seven months training for the run and seeking sponsorship.
