Spate of road crashes in Derbyshire over last 24 hours

Emergency services have dealt with a spate of road crashes in Derbyshire over the last 24 hours.

At about 7.30pm on Monday, a pedal cyclist and a Ford Focus car collided on Manor Road, Brimington.

The male pedal cyclist was treated at Chesterfield Royal Hospital for minor injuries and concussion.

At about 5.30pm on the same day, two cars – a Ford Fiesta and a BMW – crashed on the A6 at Darley Dale. A female driver suffered an injured arm and was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The road was blocked for about an hour.

Earlier, at about 5.10pm, a Seat Ibiza car and a Honda motorbike collided on Quary Hill Road, Ilkeston. The male motorcyclist was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Notingham with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. The road was closed for about two hours.

And at about 3pm, a heavy good vehicle and a Toyota Rav 4 car crashed on the A6 at Taddington. Firefighters helped rescue two women who were trapped in the car. They were treated at Chesterfield Royal Hospital for minor injuries.
