Yorkshire Building Society is celebrating the re-launch of its Clowne agency by donating £1,000 to three local good causes, and it’s asking local people to decide how much money each charity will receive.
Yorkshire opened its Clowne agency in October last year after Halifax pulled out of the town.
The agency originally opened at the offices of David Slater Insurance Services on Mill Street, but has now handed over to Heywood Estates, operating out of the same office.
Glyn Heywood, the new proprietor at the agency is keen to re-launch the office and support local good causes in Clowne.
Existing customers and members of the public are encouraged to call into the agency where they will have the opportunity to vote for one of three local charities to receive a share of a £1,000 donation. They are Clowne & District Community Transport, Ashgate Hospice and Clowne Old People’s Welfare Committee.
Votes will be accepted until Saturday and the number of votes for each charity will determine the amount donated.
Mr Heywood, said: “I’d encourage the people of Clowne to call in and vote for the charity they’d like to receive support and share a cup of tea with the team.”
