As reported, Premier Inn acquired the Marston’s pub earlier this month and plan to redevelop it into a 60-bed hotel and restaurant, creating 30 jobs.

The budget hotel chain will be displaying the plans today (Thursday) between 3pm and 8pm at the Octagon Lounge, at the Pavilion Gardens, on St John’s Road, in Buxton, and architects will be on hand to answer any questions about the proposal.

Nick Johnston, the acquisition manager for Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, who own Premier Inn, said: “We have spent a lot of time designing the new hotel building to ensure it is right for Buxton and fits with its surroundings.

“I believe we have done that. Our multi-million pound investment will bring the vacant Robin Hood site back into use, create new jobs and bring a new quality new hotel operator to town, diversifying the accommodation on offer.”

Residents can comment on the plans by calling 0161 2337670, emailing [email protected] or writing to Premier Inn consultation, c/o Turley, 1 New York Street, Manchester M1 4HD by July 4. A planning application will be submitted later this summer.
