GENEROUS fundraisers boosted a couple’s plan to raise hundreds of pounds towards a trip to Disney World for their baby who is battling a life threatening tumour.

The revellers turned out for a charity fun-day at Poolsbrook Hotel, Staveley, on Saturday, where they enjoyed a car boot sale, a bouncy castle, games and a disco for Sue and Martin O’Driscoll’s seriously ill one-year-old son Declan.

Mum-of-three Sue, of Franklin Drive, Staveley, said: “A big thank you goes out to the Poolsbrook Hotel and everyone who supported Declan.

“You never think this sort of thing will happen to any of your children but our whole family has pulled together and we have to get on with it.”

Declan was diagnosed with pilocytic astrocytoma after a tumour was discovered on his spine and he is undergoing chemotherapy. Other plans are underway to continue raising funds for Declans’ trip to America and anyone wishing to support future events or wanting to make a donation can call Declan’s grandfather David Seaton on 07815 294695.
