Sian shinesat stables

Sian Cowley, a working pupil at Red House Stables and Working Carriage Museum has won this year’s trophy for the most improved pupil.

Sian, aged 15 years, lives in Darley Dale and has been working at Red House Stables in her spare time for the past four years. She is a pupil at Highfields School in Matlock where she is taking GCSE’s and hoping to make a career in Child Care.

Caroline Dale-Leech, owner and curator of the Red House Stables and Working Carriage Museum said: “Sian has shown commitment and dedication whilst working at the stables and has assimilated the training very well indeed, proving herself to be a very accomplished young driver and a competent and valued member of the team.”

Sian won the Best Young Driver 10 – 14 years on two separate occasions at the 2012 Chatsworth Country Fair and was runner-up in the Brian Sims Young Drivers’ Scholarship
