Generous staff, pupils and parents at Sharley Park Community Primary School in Clay Cross have filled shoeboxes with toys and other gifts to help underprivileged children in war-torn countries.

Children have made bracelets and one staff member’s mum knitted scarves at the amazing age of 93.

Headtecaher Erika Thornhill said: “I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the staff, children and parents and can’t thank them enough.”
