Shirebrook pupils put art and soul into celebration
Students listened to vinyl records, helped paint murals and enjoyed live music outside their classrooms when they drew inspiration from Glastonbury Festival for their annual celebration of the arts.
Shirebrook School’s arts week was themed around music and saw vinyl DJing from arts teachers, a live jazz performance by staff, the Academy String Orchestra, its wind band and singer-songwriter Harry Linacre.
Students saw murals of musicians take shape, courtesy of staff and pupils, staff members recited poetry, there were drama performances and exhibitions of art and photography.
