CRAIG Westcarr who had a hand in Chesterfield’s first goal and scored the second, had a dream day at Wembley as Chesterfield won the JP Trophy.

Westcarr was named as a substitute but came on after Lester was injured.

He said: “It’s one of the best days of my career. It is great to come here and win a trophy. It was all abit weird and abit surreal.

“It is always nice to win and I know we can now go on and get out of the relegation zone.”

Manager, John Sheridan was delighted to have led his team to victory.

He said: “I am very proud. As a player I was fortunate enough to score at Wembley in a trophy final and I am very pleased for the players and our supporters.

“At half time I said to the players ‘Be more courageous and show belief in yourself’.

“It is a trophy and it is great to win it but I know where my loyalties lie and I am desperate to stay in Division One.

“I would sacrifice this afternoon to stay up.”
