'Several' passengers suffer facial injuries after fight on Matlock train

British Transport Police is investigating a fight on board a train at Matlock station in which 'several' people suffered facial injuries.

Two groups of passengers became involved in a fight on a stationary train after a verbal altercation at 11pm on Saturday, May 28.

Detective Constable Simon Courtney said: “Several people sustained facial injuries as a result of the fight.

“We are trying to piece together exactly what happened and would like to speak to anyone who may have been on the train, which was the 10.16pm Derby to Matlock service, or at the station and may have witnessed the incident.”
