Members of the community are working hard to plan for the future of a market town.
Bakewell Partnership is in the process of encouraging local people to help with the creation of the Bakewell Neighbourhood Plan.
The plan will, if approved, be used as a planning tool for the future of the town to outline how it will grow over time.
A working group has also been established to address the issue of Bakewell’s economy.
The aim of the group is to encourage the creation of a dynamic, balanced and sustainable economy that respects the character of the town. The economy group is working to establish a data base of town centre retail uses as a basis for a discussion about the extent to which Bakewell’s retail provision is balanced.
