SERIOUS ASSAULT: Teens arrested after man 'attacked with brick and bottle' in Chesterfield

Members of the public called police at around 10.30pm on Friday to report a fight near the Donut roundabout.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 46-year-old man who is believed to have been attacked with a brick and a bottle.

The man, who suffered head and facial injuries, was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman described the assault as 'serious' and said the victim's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Following the incident, two boys, aged 14 and 15, were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm with intent.

They have both been released under investigation.
